첫 번째 안식일 후 두 번째 안식일. 첫 번째 안식일 후 두 번째 안식일은 첫날 성회(聖會)가 있는 세 큰 절기 안식일 주일에 떨어지는 안식일을 의미합니다. 이 절기 안식일들의 첫 성회 날은 “큰 날 / high day”(히브리어로는 욤 토브)라고 하며, “첫” 혹은 큰 안식일이라고 합니다. 그리고 이 주의 제7일 안식일은 “두 번째” 안식일이라고 합니다. 그러므로 이 두 번째 안식일은 제7일 안식일을 의미합니다. 

영문 참조: The first and second sabbaths can occur only in the week of the three great Feasts. The first day of these feasts is a Sabbath 'high day"(Heb. yom tov), and is the "first" or great sabbath, whatever day of the week it falls on, the weekly sabbath then becomes the "second". This "second sabbath" was therefore the ordinary weekly sabbath, as is clear from Matt. 12:1. Not seeing this the current Greek texts solve the difficulty by omitting the word altogether!
