1  But¹¹⁶¹ I determined²⁹¹⁹ this⁵¹²⁴ with myself,¹⁶⁸³ that I would not³³⁶¹ come²⁰⁶⁴ again³⁸²⁵ to⁴³¹⁴ you⁵²⁰⁹ in¹⁷²² heaviness.³⁰⁷⁷

1  내가(I determinedG2919) 다시(againG3825) 근심(heaviness.G3077)으로( inG1722) 너희(youG5209)에게(toG4314) 나아가지(comeG2064) 않기로(would notG3361) 스스로 결단하였노니(I determinedG2919)

1  But I determined this within myself, that I would not come to you again in grief.

1   그러나( ButG1161) 내가 이것을 스스로 결심하였으니, 이는 너희에게 슬픔으로 다시 가지 아니하겠다는 것이라.

2  For¹⁰⁶³ if¹⁴⁸⁷ I¹⁴⁷³ make you sorry,^{3076, 5209} who^{5101 (2532)} is²⁰⁷⁶ he then that maketh me glad,^{2165, 3165} but¹⁵⁰⁸ the same which is made sorry³⁰⁷⁶ by¹⁵³⁷ me?¹⁷⁰⁰

2  내가 너희를 근심하게 하면 나의 근심하게 한 자 밖에 나를 기쁘게 하는 자가 누구냐

2  For if I make you sorry, who then is he who makes me glad, but the same who has been made sorry by me?

2   내가 너희를 슬프게 한다면 나로 인하여 슬프게 된 사람 외에 나를 기쁘게 할 자가 누구겠느냐?

3  And²⁵³² I wrote¹¹²⁵ this⁵¹²⁴ same⁸⁴⁶ unto you,⁵²¹³ lest,³³⁶³ when I came,²⁰⁶⁴ I should have²¹⁹² sorrow³⁰⁷⁷ from⁵⁷⁵ them of whom³⁷³⁹ I³¹⁶⁵ ought¹¹⁶³ to rejoice;⁵⁴⁶³ having confidence³⁹⁸² in¹⁹⁰⁹ you⁵²⁰⁹ all,³⁹⁵⁶ that³⁷⁵⁴ my¹⁶⁹⁹ joy⁵⁴⁷⁹ is²⁰⁷⁶ the joy of you⁵²¹⁶ all.³⁹⁵⁶

3  내가 이같이 쓴 것은 내가 갈 때에 마땅히 나를 기쁘게 할 자로부터 도리어 근심을 얻을까 염려함이요 또 너희 무리를 대하여 나의 기쁨이 너희 무리의 기쁨인줄 확신함이로라

3  And I wrote this to you, lest when I came I should have sorrow from the ones of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.

3   내가 이와 동일한 것을 너희에게 쓴 것은 내가 갈 때에 마땅히 나를 기쁘게 해 주어야 할 사람들로부터 슬픔을 얻지 아니할까 함이요, 또 나의 기쁨이 너희 모두의 기쁨임을 너희 모두 안에서 확신함이라.

4  For¹⁰⁶³ out of¹⁵³⁷ much⁴¹⁸³ affliction²³⁴⁷ and²⁵³² anguish⁴⁹²⁸ of heart²⁵⁸⁸ I wrote¹¹²⁵ unto you⁵²¹³ with¹²²³ many⁴¹⁸³ tears;¹¹⁴⁴ not³⁷⁵⁶ that²⁴⁴³ ye should be grieved,³⁰⁷⁶ but²³⁵ that²⁴⁴³ ye might know¹⁰⁹⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ love²⁶ which³⁷³⁹ I have²¹⁹² more abundantly⁴⁰⁵⁶ unto¹⁵¹⁹ you.⁵²⁰⁹

4  내가 큰G4183 환난G2347과 애통한G4928 마음이G2588 있어 많은 눈물로G1144  너희에게 썼노니 이는 너희로 근심하게 하려 한것이 아니요 오직 내가 너희를 향하여 넘치는 사랑이G26 있음을 너희로 알게 하려 함이라

4  For out of much trouble and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears, not that you should be grieved, but that you might know the love which I have more abundantly to you.

4    나는 마음의 큰 환난과 고통 속에서 많은 눈물로 너희에게 편지를 썼나니, 이는 너희로 하여금 슬프게 하려는 것이 아니요, 오히려 내가 너희에 대한 사랑을 보다 풍성히 가졌음을 너희로 알게 하려는 것이라.

5  But¹¹⁶¹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ any⁵¹⁰⁰ have caused grief,³⁰⁷⁶ he hath not³⁷⁵⁶ grieved³⁰⁷⁶ me,¹⁶⁹¹ but²³⁵ in part:^{575, 3313} that²⁴⁴³ I may not³³⁶¹ overcharge¹⁹¹² you⁵²⁰⁹ all.³⁹⁵⁶

5  근심하게 한 자가 있었을지라도 나를 근심하게 한 것이 아니요 어느 정도 너희 무리를 근심하게 한 것이니 어느 정도라 함은 내가 너무 심하게 하지 아니하려 함이라

5  But if anyone has caused grief, he has not grieved me, except in part; so that I not overbear all of you.

5  만일 어떤 사람이 슬프게 하였다면 나를 슬프게 한 것이 아니라 어느 정도는 너희를 모두 슬프게 한 것이니, 이는 너희 모두에게 부담을 주지 아니하려 함이라.

6  Sufficient²⁴²⁵ to such a man⁵¹⁰⁸ is this³⁷⁷⁸ punishment,²⁰⁰⁹ which³⁵⁸⁸ was inflicted of⁵²⁵⁹ many.⁴¹¹⁹

6  이러한 사람이 많은 사람에게서 벌 받은 것이 족하도다

6  This punishment by the majority is enough for such a one;

6   그런 사람은 다수에 의하여 책망받는 것으로 충분하니

7  So that⁵⁶²⁰ contrariwise⁵¹²¹ ye⁵²⁰⁹ ought rather³¹²³ to forgive⁵⁴⁸³ him, and²⁵³² comfort³⁸⁷⁰ him, lest³³⁸¹ perhaps such a one⁵¹⁰⁸ should be swallowed up²⁶⁶⁶ with overmuch⁴⁰⁵⁵ sorrow.³⁰⁷⁷

7  그런즉 너희는 차라리 저를 용서하고G5483 위로할 것이니G3870 저가 너무 많은 근심에 잠길까 두려워하노라

7  so that, on the contrary, you should rather forgive and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overwhelming sorrow.

7  그러므로 너희는 오히려 그 반대로 그런 사람을 용서하고 위로하여야 하리니, 그래야 아마 그가 더 심한 슬픔에 빠지지 아니하게 되리라.

8  Wherefore¹³⁵² I beseech³⁸⁷⁰ you⁵²⁰⁹ that ye would confirm²⁹⁶⁴ your love²⁶ toward¹⁵¹⁹ him.⁸⁴⁶

8  그러므로 너희를 권하노니 사랑을 저희에게 나타내라

8  So I beseech you to confirm your love toward him.

8  이 때문에 내가 너희에게 권고하노니, 너희는 그를 향한 너희의 사랑을 확인하라.

9  For¹⁰⁶³ to¹⁵¹⁹ this end⁵¹²⁴ also²⁵³² did I write,¹¹²⁵ that²⁴⁴³ I might know¹⁰⁹⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ proof¹³⁸² of you,⁵²¹⁶ whether¹⁴⁸⁷ ye be²⁰⁷⁵ obedient⁵²⁵⁵ in¹⁵¹⁹ all things.³⁹⁵⁶

9  너희가 범사에 순종하는지 그 증거를 알고자하여 내가 이것을 너희에게 썼노라

9  For to this end I also wrote, that I might know the proof of you, whether you are obedient in all things.

9   너희가 매사에 복종하는지 너희의 증거를 알고자 이를 위하여 내가 이것을 썼노라.

10  ⁽¹¹⁶¹⁾ To whom³⁷³⁹ ye forgive⁵⁴⁸³ any thing,⁵¹⁰⁰ I¹⁴⁷³ forgive also:²⁵³² for¹⁰⁶³ if I forgave any thing,^{1536, 1473, 5483 (2532)} to whom³⁷³⁹ I forgave⁵⁴⁸³ it, for your sakes^{1223, 5209} forgave I it in¹⁷²² the person⁴³⁸³ of Christ;⁵⁵⁴⁷

10  너희가 무슨 일이든지 뉘게 용서하면 나도 그리하고 내가 만일 용서한 일이 있으면 용서한 그것은 너희를 위하여 그리스도G5547 앞에서 한 것이니

10  But to whom you forgive anything, I also forgive. For if I forgave anything, for your sakes I forgave it to him in the person of Christ;

10    너희가 누구에게 무엇을 용서하면 나도 그리하고, 만일 내가 무엇을 용서했다면 그것은 너희를 위하여 내가 그리스도(마쉬악H4899)의 면전에서 용서한 것이라.

11  Lest³³⁶³ Satan⁴⁵⁶⁷ should get an advantage⁴¹²² of us: for¹⁰⁶³ we are not ignorant^{50, 3756} of his⁸⁴⁶ devices.³⁵⁴⁰

11  이는 우리로 사단G4567에게 속지G4122 않게 하려 함이라 우리가 그 궤계를G3540알지 못하는 바가 아니로라

11  so that we should not be overreached by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his devices.

11  사탄이 우리에게서 유익을 취하지 못하게 하려는 것이니 이는 우리가 그의 계략을 모르지 않음이라.

12  Furthermore, when I came²⁰⁶⁴ to¹⁵¹⁹ Troas⁵¹⁷⁴ to¹⁵¹⁹ preach Christ's⁵⁵⁴⁷ gospel,²⁰⁹⁸ and²⁵³² a door²³⁷⁴ was opened⁴⁵⁵ unto me³⁴²⁷ of¹⁷²² the Lord,²⁹⁶²

12  내가 그리스도의G5547 복음을G2098   위하여 드로아G5174에 이르매 주G2962 안에서 문이G2374 내게 열렸으되G455

12  And, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened to me by the Lord,

12  또 내가 그리스도(마쉬악)의 복음을 전하기 위하여 트로아에 갔을 때 한 문이 주(야훼) 안에서 나에게 열렸으나

13  I had²¹⁹² no³⁷⁵⁶ rest⁴²⁵ in my³⁴⁵⁰ spirit,⁴¹⁵¹ because I³¹⁶⁵ found²¹⁴⁷ not³³⁶¹ Titus⁵¹⁰³ my³⁴⁵⁰ brother:⁸⁰ but²³⁵ taking my leave⁶⁵⁷ of them,⁸⁴⁶ I went from thence¹⁸³¹ into¹⁵¹⁹ Macedonia.³¹⁰⁹

13  내가 내 형제 디도를G5103 만나지 못하므로 내 심령이G4151 편치 못하여 저희를 작별하고 마게도냐로G3109 갔노라

13  I had no rest in my spirit because I did not find Titus my brother. But taking my leave of them, I went from there into Macedonia.

13   내가 내 형제 디도를 만나지 못하므로 내 영이 평안하지 못하여 그들과 작별하고 거기서 마케도니아로 갔노라.

14  Now¹¹⁶¹ thanks⁵⁴⁸⁵ be unto God,²³¹⁶ which always causeth us to triumph^{2358, 3842, 2248} in¹⁷²² Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ and²⁵³² maketh manifest⁵³¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ savor³⁷⁴⁴ of his⁸⁴⁸ knowledge¹¹⁰⁸ by¹²²³ us²²⁵⁷ in¹⁷²² every³⁹⁵⁶ place.⁵¹¹⁷

14  항상 우리를 그리스도G5547 안에서 이기게 하시고 우리로 말미암아 각처에서 그리스도를 아는 냄새를 나타내시는 하나님께G2962 감사하노라

14  Now thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ, and He revealing through us the odor of the knowledge of Him in every place.

14   항상 우리를 그리스도(마쉬악) 안에서 승리하게 하시고, 또 어느 곳에서나 우리를 통하여 그 분에 관한 지식의 향기를 나타내게 하시는 하나님(엘로힘)께 이제 감사하노라.

15  For³⁷⁵⁴ we are²⁰⁷⁰ unto God²³¹⁶ a sweet savor²¹⁷⁵ of Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ in¹⁷²² them that are saved,⁴⁹⁸² and²⁵³² in¹⁷²² them that perish:⁶²²

15  우리는 구원 얻는 자들(them that are saved,G4982)에게나 망하는 자들G622에게나 하나님 앞에서G2316 그리스도의G5547 향기G2175니

15  For we are to God a sweet savor of Christ, in those being saved, and in those being lost;

15  이는 우리가 구원받은 사람들에게나 멸망하는 사람들에게나 하나님(엘로힘) 앞에서는 그리스도(마쉬악)의 향기이기 때문이라.

16  To the one^{3739, 3303} we are the savor³⁷⁴⁴ of death²²⁸⁸ unto¹⁵¹⁹ death;²²⁸⁸ and¹¹⁶¹ to the other³⁷³⁹ the savor³⁷⁴⁴ of life²²²² unto¹⁵¹⁹ life.²²²² And²⁵³² who⁵¹⁰¹ is sufficient²⁴²⁵ for⁴³¹⁴ these things?⁵⁰²³

16  이 사람에게는 사망으로 좇아 사망에 이르는 냄새요 저 사람에게는 생명으로 좇아 생명에 이르는 냄새라 누가 이것을 감당하리요

16  to the one we are the savor of death to death, and to the other we are the savor of life to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

16  정녕 이 사람들에게는 사망에 이르는 사망의 향기이나 저 사람들에게는 생명에 이르는 생명의 향기라. 누가 이런 일들을 원만히 감당하겠느냐?

17  For¹⁰⁶³ we are²⁰⁷⁰ not³⁷⁵⁶ as⁵⁶¹³ many,⁴¹⁸³ which corrupt²⁵⁸⁵ the³⁵⁸⁸ word³⁵⁵⁶ of God:²³¹⁶ but²³⁵ as⁵⁶¹³ of¹⁵³⁷ sincerity,¹⁵⁰⁵ but²³⁵ as⁵⁶¹³ of¹⁵³⁷ God,²³¹⁶ in the sight²⁷¹⁴ of God²³¹⁶ speak²⁹⁸⁰ we in¹⁷²² Christ.⁵⁵⁴⁷

17  우리는 수다한 사람과 같이 하나님의G2316 말씀을G3056 혼잡하게G2585 하지 아니하고 곧 순전함G1505으로 하나님G2316께 받은 것 같이 하나님G2316 앞에서와 그리스도G5547 안에서 말하노라

17  For we are not as many, hawking the Word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.

17   우리는 하나님(엘로힘)의 말씀을 변개시킴으로써 이익을 취하는 여러 사람들과 같지 않고, 오직 성실함으로써, 또 하나님(야훼)께로부터 난 자로서, 하나님(엘로힘) 앞에서와 그리스도(마쉬악) 안에서 말하노라.
