1  Likewise,³⁶⁶⁸ ye wives,¹¹³⁵ be in subjection⁵²⁹³ to your own²³⁹⁸ husbands;⁴³⁵ that,²⁴⁴³ if any¹⁵³⁶ obey not⁵⁴⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ word,³⁰⁵⁶ they also²⁵³² may without⁴²⁷ the word³⁰⁵⁶ be won²⁷⁷⁰ by¹²²³ the³⁵⁸⁸ conversation³⁹¹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ wives;¹¹³⁵

1  아내 된 자들아 이와 같이 자기 남편에게 순복하라 이는 혹 도를 순종치 않는 자라도 말로 말미암지 않고 그 아내의 행위로 말미암아 구원을 얻게 하려 함이니

1  Likewise, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that if any do not obey the Word, they may also be won without the Word by the conduct of the wives,

1  이와 같이 너희 아내들아, 너희 자신의 남편에게 복종하라. 이는 말씀에 순종하지 않는 자들일지라도 아내의 말없는 행실로 인하여 그들을 얻고자 함이니

2  While they behold²⁰²⁹ your⁵²¹⁶ chaste⁵³ conversation³⁹¹ coupled with¹⁷²² fear.⁵⁴⁰¹

2  너희의 두려워하며 정결한 행위를 봄이라

2  having witnessed your chaste behavior in the fear of God.

2  이는 그들이 두려움 가운데 너희의 정숙한 행실을 봄이라.

3  Whose³⁷³⁹ adorning²⁸⁸⁹ let it not³⁷⁵⁶ be²⁰⁷⁷ that³⁵⁸⁸ outward¹⁸⁵⁵ adorning of plaiting¹⁷⁰⁸ the hair,²³⁵⁹ and²⁵³² of wearing⁴⁰²⁵ of gold,⁵⁵⁵³ or²²²⁸ of putting on¹⁷⁴⁵ of apparel;²⁴⁴⁰

3  너희 단장은 머리를 꾸미고 금을 차고 아름다운 옷을 입는 외모로 하지 말고

3  Of whom let not be the adorning of garments, or outward braiding of hair and wearing of gold, or of putting on clothing,

3  너희는 머리를 땋고 금으로 치장하거나 옷을 입는 외모로 단장하지 말고

4  But²³⁵ let it be the³⁵⁸⁸ hidden²⁹²⁷ man⁴⁴⁴ of the³⁵⁸⁸ heart,²⁵⁸⁸ in¹⁷²² that which is not corruptible,⁸⁶² even the ornament of a meek⁴²³⁹ and²⁵³² quiet²²⁷² spirit,⁴¹⁵¹ which³⁷³⁹ is²⁰⁷⁶ in the sight¹⁷⁹⁹ of God²³¹⁶ of great price.⁴¹⁸⁵

4  오직 마음에 숨은 사람을 온유하고 안정한 심령의 썩지 아니할 것으로 하라 이는 하나님G2316 앞에 값진 것이니라

4  but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great price in the sight of God.

4 오직 마음에 숨겨진 사람을 썩지 아니하는 것 곧 온유하고 고요한 영으로 단장할지니 그것은 하나님(엘로힘) 보시기에 매우 값진 것이니라.

5  For¹⁰⁶³ after this manner³⁷⁷⁹ in the old time⁴²¹⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ holy⁴⁰ women¹¹³⁵ also,²⁵³² who trusted¹⁶⁷⁹ in¹⁹⁰⁹ God,²³¹⁶ adorned²⁸⁸⁵ themselves,¹⁴³⁸ being in subjection⁵²⁹³ unto their own²³⁹⁸ husbands:⁴³⁵

5  전에 하나님께G2316 소망을 두었던 거룩한 부녀들도 이와 같이 자기 남편에게 순복함으로 자기를 단장하였나니

5  For so once indeed the holy women hoping in God adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands;

5  예전에 하나님(야훼)을 신뢰했던 거룩한 여인들도 이와 같이 자기 자신의 남편에게 순종함으로써 자신들을 단장하였느니라.

6  Even as⁵⁶¹³ Sarah⁴⁵⁶⁴ obeyed⁵²¹⁹ Abraham,¹¹ calling²⁵⁶⁴ him⁸⁴⁶ lord:²⁹⁶² whose³⁷³⁹ daughters⁵⁰⁴³ ye are,¹⁰⁹⁶ as long as ye do well,¹⁵ and²⁵³² are not afraid^{5399, 3361} with any³³⁶⁷ amazement.⁴⁴²³

6  사라가 아브라함을 주라 칭하여 복종한 것같이 너희가 선을 행하고 아무 두려운 일에도 놀라지 아니함으로 그의 딸이 되었느니라

6  as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children you became, doing good and fearing no terror.

6 사라가 아브라함을 주라 부르며 복종했던 것과 같이 너희가 선을 행하고 어떤 놀라운 일에도 두려워하지 아니하면 그녀의 딸들이 되느니라.

7  Likewise,³⁶⁶⁸ ye husbands,⁴³⁵ dwell with⁴⁹²⁴ them according²⁵⁹⁶ to knowledge,¹¹⁰⁸ giving⁶³² honor⁵⁰⁹² unto the³⁵⁸⁸ wife,¹¹³⁴ as⁵⁶¹³ unto the weaker⁷⁷² vessel,⁴⁶³² and²⁵³² as⁵⁶¹³ being heirs together⁴⁷⁸⁹ of the grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ of life;²²²² that your⁵²¹⁶ prayers⁴³³⁵ be not³³⁶¹ hindered.¹⁵⁸¹

7  남편된 자들아 이와 같이 지식을 따라 너희 아내와 동거하고 저는 더 연약한 그릇이요 또 생명의 은혜를 유업으로 함께 받을 자로 알아 귀히 여기라 이는 너희 기도가 막히지 아니하게 하려 함이라

7  Likewise, husbands, live together according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife as to the weaker vessel, the female, as truly being co-heirs together of the grace of life, not cutting off your prayers.

7  이와 같이 너희 남편들아, 아내들을 더 연약한 그릇으로서, 또 생명의 은혜를 함께 상속받을 자로서 귀히 여기되 지식을 따라 그들과 동거하라. 이는 너희의 기도가 막히지 않게 하려 함이니라.

8  Finally,⁵⁰⁵⁶ be ye all³⁹⁵⁶ of one mind,³⁶⁷⁵ having compassion one of another,⁴⁸³⁵ love as brethren,⁵³⁶¹ be pitiful,²¹⁵⁵ be courteous:⁵³⁹¹

8  마지막으로 말하노니 너희가 다 마음을 같이하여 체휼하며 형제를 사랑하며 불쌍히 여기며 겸손하며

8  And finally, all be of one mind, having compassion on one another, loving the brothers, tenderhearted, friendly.

8   끝으로 너희는 모두 한 생각을 품고 서로 동정하고 형제로서 사랑하며, 인정을 베풀고 예의를 지키며

9  Not³³⁶¹ rendering⁵⁹¹ evil²⁵⁵⁶ for⁴⁷³ evil,²⁵⁵⁶ or²²²⁸ railing³⁰⁵⁹ for⁴⁷³ railing:³⁰⁵⁹ but¹¹⁶¹ contrariwise⁵¹²¹ blessing;²¹²⁷ knowing¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ ye are thereunto^{1519, 5124} called,²⁵⁶⁴ that²⁴⁴³ ye should inherit²⁸¹⁶ a blessing.²¹²⁹

9  "악을 악으로, 욕을 욕으로 갚지 말고 도리어 복을 빌라 이를 위하여 너희가 부르심을 입었으니 이는 복을 유업으로 받게 하려하심이라"

9  Never give back evil for evil, or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, giving blessing, knowing that you are called to this so that you might inherit blessing.

9   악을 악으로 또는 욕을 욕으로 갚지 말고 도리어 복을 빌라. 이를 위하여 너희가 부르심을 받은 것을 아노니 이는 너희로 복을 상속받도록 하려 함이니라.

10  For¹⁰⁶³ he that will²³⁰⁹ love²⁵ life,²²²² and²⁵³² see¹⁴⁹² good¹⁸ days,²²⁵⁰ let him refrain³⁹⁷³ his⁸⁴⁸ tongue¹¹⁰⁰ from⁵⁷⁵ evil,²⁵⁵⁶ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁸ lips⁵⁴⁹¹ that they speak²⁹⁸⁰ no³³⁶¹ guile:¹³⁸⁸

10  그러므로 생명을 사랑하고 좋은 날 보기를 원하는 자는 혀를 금하여 악한 말을 그치며 그 입술로 궤휼을 말하지 말고

10  For he that wants to love life and to see good days, let him restrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking guile.

10  그러므로 생명을 사랑하고 좋은 날들을 볼 사람은 자기 혀를 악으로부터 지키며, 자기 입술로 어떠한 교활도 말하지 않게 하라.

11  Let him eschew¹⁵⁷⁸ evil,²⁵⁵⁶ and²⁵³² do⁴¹⁶⁰ good;¹⁸ let him seek²²¹² peace,¹⁵¹⁵ and²⁵³² ensue¹³⁷⁷ it.⁸⁴⁶

11  악에서 떠나 선을 행하고 화평을 구하여 이를 좇으라

11  Let him turn aside from evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it.

11  악에서 떠나 선을 행하고, 화평을 구하여 그것을 추구하라.

12  For³⁷⁵⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ eyes³⁷⁸⁸ of the Lord²⁹⁶² are over¹⁹⁰⁹ the righteous,¹³⁴² and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ ears³⁷⁷⁵ are open unto¹⁵¹⁹ their⁸⁴⁶ prayers:¹¹⁶² but¹¹⁶¹ the face⁴³⁸³ of the Lord²⁹⁶² is against¹⁹⁰⁹ them that do⁴¹⁶⁰ evil.²⁵⁵⁶

12  주의G2962 눈은 의인을 향하시고 그의 귀는 저의 간구에 기울이시되 주의G2962 낯은 악행하는 자들을 향하시느니라 하였느니라

12  For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears open to their prayers. But the Lord's face is against those who do evil.

12  주(야훼)의 눈은 의인을 향하시고, 그의 귀는 그들의 기도에 열려 있으시나, 주(야훼)의 얼굴은 악을 행하는 자들을 대적하시느니라.

13  And²⁵³² who⁵¹⁰¹ is he that will harm²⁵⁵⁹ you,⁵²⁰⁹ if¹⁴³⁷ ye be¹⁰⁹⁶ followers³⁴⁰² of that which is good?¹⁸

13  또 너희가 열심으로 선을 행하면 누가 너희를 해하리요

13  And who is the one who will harm you if you become imitators of the good?

13  만일 너희가 선한 것을 따르는 자가 된다면 누가 너희를 해치겠느냐?

14  But²³⁵ and²⁵³² if¹⁴⁸⁷ ye suffer³⁹⁵⁸ for righteousness' sake,^{1223, 1343} happy³¹⁰⁷ are ye: and¹¹⁶¹ be not afraid^{5399, 3361} of their⁸⁴⁶ terror,⁵⁴⁰¹ neither³³⁶⁶ be troubled;⁵⁰¹⁵

14  그러나 의를 위하여 고난을 받으면 복 있는 자니 저희의 두려워함을 두려워 말며 소동치 말고

14  But if you also suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. And do not fear their fear, nor be troubled,

14  그러나 너희가 의를 위하여 고난을 당한다면 복 있는 자들이니 그들의 위협에 두려워하지 말고 동요되지 말라.

15  But¹¹⁶¹ sanctify³⁷ the Lord²⁹⁶² God²³¹⁶ in¹⁷²² your⁵²¹⁶ hearts:²⁵⁸⁸ and¹¹⁶¹ be ready²⁰⁹² always¹⁰⁴ to give an answer^{4314, 627} to every man³⁹⁵⁶ that asketh¹⁵⁴ you⁵²⁰⁹ a reason³⁰⁵⁶ of⁴⁰¹² the³⁵⁸⁸ hope¹⁶⁸⁰ that is in¹⁷²² you⁵²¹³ with³³²⁶ meekness⁴²⁴⁰ and²⁵³² fear:⁵⁴⁰¹

15  너희 마음에 그리스도를G5547 주로G2316 삼아 거룩하게 하고 너희 속에 있는 소망에 관한 이유를 묻는 자에게는 대답할 것을 항상 예비하되G2092 온유와 두려움으로 하고

15  but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason of the hope in you, with meekness and fear;

15  그러나 너희 마음 속에서 주(야훼) 하나님(엘로힘)을 거룩하게 여기며 너희 안에 있는 소망에 관한 이유를 묻는 모든 사람에게 답변할 것을 온유와 두려움으로 항상 예비하고

16  Having²¹⁹² a good¹⁸ conscience;⁴⁸⁹³ that,²⁴⁴³ whereas^{1722, 3739} they speak evil of²⁶³⁵ you,⁵²¹⁶ as⁵⁶¹³ of evildoers,²⁵⁵⁵ they may be ashamed²⁶¹⁷ that falsely accuse¹⁹⁰⁸ your⁵²¹⁶ good¹⁸ conversation³⁹¹ in¹⁷²² Christ.⁵⁵⁴⁷

16  선한 양심을 가지라 이는 그리스도G5547 안에 있는 너희의 선행을 욕하는 자들로 그 비방하는 일에 부끄러움을 당하게 하려 함이라

16  having a good conscience, that while they speak against you as evildoers they may be shamed, those falsely accusing your good behavior in Christ.

16 선한 양심을 가지라. 이는 그들이 행악자들에게 하는 것처럼 너희를 비방하다가도, 그리스도(마쉬악) 안에 있는 너희의 선행을 거짓되이 비난하는 것을 부끄러워하게 하려 함이니라.

17  For¹⁰⁶³ it is better,²⁹⁰⁹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ will²³⁰⁷ of God²³¹⁶ be²³⁰⁹ so, that ye suffer³⁹⁵⁸ for well doing,¹⁵ than²²²⁸ for evil doing.²⁵⁵⁴

17  선을 행함으로 고난 받는 것이 하나님의G2316 뜻일찐대 악을 행함으로 고난 받는 것보다 나으니라

17  For it is better, if the will of God wills it, to suffer for well-doing than for evil-doing.

17   하나님(엘로힘)의 뜻이 그러하다면 악을 행하다가 고난을 당하느니 선을 행하다가 당하는 것이 나으니라.

18  For³⁷⁵⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ also²⁵³² hath once⁵³⁰ suffered³⁹⁵⁸ for⁴⁰¹² sins,²⁶⁶ the just¹³⁴² for⁵²²⁸ the unjust,⁹⁴ that²⁴⁴³ he might bring⁴³¹⁷ us²²⁴⁸ to God,²³¹⁶ being put to death²²⁸⁹ in the⁽³³⁰³⁾ flesh,⁴⁵⁶¹ but¹¹⁶¹ quickened²²²⁷ by the³⁵⁸⁸ Spirit:⁴¹⁵¹

18  그리스도께서G5547도 한번 죄를 위하여 죽으사 의인으로서 불의한 자를 대신하셨으니 이는 우리를 하나님G2316 앞으로 인도하려 하심이라 육체로는 죽임을 당하시고 영으로는 살리심을 받으셨으니

18  For Christ also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, indeed being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit;

18   그리스도(마쉬악)께서도 죄들로 인하여 한 번 고난을 받으사 의인으로서 불의한 자를 대신하셨으니, 이는 육신으로는 죽임을 당하셨으나 성령에 의하여 살림을 받으심으로 우리를 하나님(엘로힘)께로 인도하려 하심이라.

19  By¹⁷²² which³⁷³⁹ also²⁵³² he went⁴¹⁹⁸ and preached²⁷⁸⁴ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ spirits⁴¹⁵¹ in¹⁷²² prison;⁵⁴³⁸

19  저가 또한 영으로 옥에 있는 영들에게 전파하시니라

19  in which also He went and preached to the spirits in prison,

19  그가 성령으로 감옥에 있는 영들에게도 가서 전파하셨으니

20  Which sometime⁴²¹⁸ were disobedient,⁵⁴⁴ when³⁷⁵³ once⁵³⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ longsuffering³¹¹⁵ of God²³¹⁶ waited¹⁵⁵¹ in¹⁷²² the days²²⁵⁰ of Noah,³⁵⁷⁵ while the ark²⁷⁸⁷ was a preparing,²⁶⁸⁰ wherein^{1519, 3739} few,³⁶⁴¹ that is,⁵¹²³ eight³⁶³⁸ souls⁵⁵⁹⁰ were saved¹²⁹⁵ by¹²²³ water.⁵²⁰⁴

20  그들은 전에 노아의 날 방주 예비할 동안 하나님이G2316 오래 참고 기다리실 때에 순종치 아니하던 자들이라 방주에서 물로 말미암아 구원을 얻은 자가 몇 명 뿐이니 겨우 여덟명이라

20  to disobeying ones, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared (in which a few, that is, eight souls were saved through water);

20  그들은 전에 노아의 날에 방주를 예비하는 동안 하나님(엘로힘)께서 오래 참고 기다리셨을 때에 순종하지 아니하던 자들이라. 방주에서 물로 말미암아 구원을 받은 사람이 몇 명뿐이니 곧 여덟 혼들이라.

21  The like figure⁴⁹⁹ whereunto³⁷³⁹ even baptism⁹⁰⁸ doth also²⁵³² now³⁵⁶⁸ save⁴⁹⁸² us²²⁴⁸ (not³⁷⁵⁶ the putting away⁵⁹⁵ of the filth⁴⁵⁰⁹ of the flesh,⁴⁵⁶¹ but²³⁵ the answer¹⁹⁰⁶ of a good¹⁸ conscience⁴⁸⁹³ toward¹⁵¹⁹ God,)²³¹⁶ by¹²²³ the resurrection³⁸⁶ of Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ:⁵⁵⁴⁷

21  물은 예수G2424 그리스도의G5547 부활하심으로 말미암아 이제 너희를 구원하는 표니 곧 세례라 육체의 더러운 것을 제하여 버림이 아니요 오직 선한 양심이 하나님을G2316 향하여 찾아가는 것이라

21  which figure now also saves us, baptism; not a putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ;

21   물은 예수(야슈아) 그리스도(하 마쉬악)의 부활하심으로 인하여 이제 우리를 구원하는 모형이니, 곧 침례라. (이것은 육체의 더러움을 제거하는 것이 아니라 하나님(야훼를)을 향한 선한 양심의 응답이라.)

22  Who³⁷³⁹ is gone⁴¹⁹⁸ into¹⁵¹⁹ heaven,³⁷⁷² and is²⁰⁷⁶ on¹⁷²² the right hand¹¹⁸⁸ of God;²³¹⁶ angels³² and²⁵³² authorities¹⁸⁴⁹ and²⁵³² powers¹⁴¹¹ being made subject unto⁵²⁹³ him.⁸⁴⁶

22  저는 하늘에 오르사 하나님G2316 우편에 계시니 천사들과 권세들과 능력들이 저에게 순복하느니라

22  who is at the right hand of God, having gone into Heaven, where the angels and authorities and powers are being subjected to Him.

22  그는 하늘에 오르셔서 하나님(엘로힘)의 오른편에 계시니 천사들과 권세들과 능력들이 그에게 순종하느니라.
