1  Now¹¹⁶¹ I¹⁴⁷³ Paul³⁹⁷² myself⁸⁴⁶ beseech³⁸⁷⁰ you⁵²⁰⁹ by¹²²³ the³⁵⁸⁸ meekness⁴²³⁶ and²⁵³² gentleness¹⁹³² of Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ who³⁷³⁹ in²⁵⁹⁶ presence⁴³⁸³ am⁽³³⁰³⁾ base⁵⁰¹¹ among¹⁷²² you,⁵²¹³ but¹¹⁶¹ being absent⁵⁴⁸ am bold²²⁹² toward¹⁵¹⁹ you:⁵²⁰⁹

1  너희를 대하여 대면하면 겸비하고 떠나 있으면 담대한 나 바울은 이제 그리스도의G5547 온유와 관용으로 친히 너희를 권하고

1  And I myself, Paul, beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ; I, who indeed to look upon am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.

1 너희 가운데서 대면하면 겸손하고 너희에게서 떠나 있으면 담대한 나 바울이 이제 그리스도(마쉬악H4899)의 온유함과 공손함으로 너희에게 권고하노라.

2  But¹¹⁶¹ I beseech¹¹⁸⁹ you, that I may not³³⁶¹ be bold²²⁹² when I am present³⁹¹⁸ with that confidence,⁴⁰⁰⁶ wherewith³⁷³⁹ I think³⁰⁴⁹ to be bold⁵¹¹¹ against¹⁹⁰⁹ some,⁵¹⁰⁰ which think³⁰⁴⁹ of us²²⁴⁸ as⁵⁶¹³ if we walked⁴⁰⁴³ according²⁵⁹⁶ to the flesh.⁴⁵⁶¹

2  또한 우리를 육체대로 행하는 자로 여기는 자들을 대하여 내가 담대히 대하려는것 같이 너희와 함께 있을 때에 나로 하여금 이 담대한 태도로 대하지 않게 하기를 구하노라

2  But I ask, not being present, that I may be bold with the confidence which I think to be daring against some, who thought of us as walking according to flesh.

2  그러나 우리가 육신을 따라 행한다고 생각하는 어떤 사람들에 대하여 내가 담대하다고 생각하는 그 자신감으로 너희와 함께 있을 때에 담대하게 되지 않기를 간구하노라.

3  For¹⁰⁶³ though we walk⁴⁰⁴³ in¹⁷²² the flesh,⁴⁵⁶¹ we do not³⁷⁵⁶ war⁴⁷⁵⁴ after²⁵⁹⁶ the flesh:⁴⁵⁶¹

3  우리가 육체에 있어 행하나 육체대로 싸우지 아니하노니

3  For though walking about in flesh, we do not war according to flesh.

3   이는 우리가 육신 안에서 행하지만 육신을 따라 싸우지는 아니함이니

4  (For¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ weapons³⁶⁹⁶ of our²²⁵⁷ warfare⁴⁷⁵² are not³⁷⁵⁶ carnal,⁴⁵⁵⁹ but²³⁵ mighty¹⁴¹⁵ through God²³¹⁶ to⁴³¹⁴ the pulling down²⁵⁰⁶ of strongholds;)³⁷⁹⁴

4  우리의 싸우는 병기는 육체에 속한 것이 아니요 오직 하나님G2316 앞에서 견고한 진을 파하는 강력이라

4  For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds,

4  (우리의 전쟁 무기는 육신적인 것이 아니요, 오직 하나님(엘로힘)을 통하여 견고한 요새들을 무너뜨리는 능력이라.)

5  Casting down²⁵⁰⁷ imaginations,³⁰⁵³ and²⁵³² every³⁹⁵⁶ high thing⁵³¹³ that exalteth itself¹⁸⁶⁹ against²⁵⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ knowledge¹¹⁰⁸ of God,²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² bringing into captivity¹⁶³ every³⁹⁵⁶ thought³⁵⁴⁰ to¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ obedience⁵²¹⁸ of Christ;⁵⁵⁴⁷

5  모든 이론을 파하며 하나님G2316 아는 것을 대적하여 높아진 것을 다 파하고 모든 생각을 사로잡아 그리스도에게G5547 복종케 하니

5  pulling down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought into the obedience of Christ;

5  여러 가지 구상과 하나님(엘로힘)을 아는 지식을 거역하여 스스로 추켜 세운 모든 높은 것들을 무너뜨리며 모든 생각을 사로잡아서 그리스도(마쉬악)께 복종케 하니

6  And²⁵³² having²¹⁹² in¹⁷²² a readiness²⁰⁹² to revenge¹⁵⁵⁶ all³⁹⁵⁶ disobedience,³⁸⁷⁶ when³⁷⁵² your⁵²¹⁶ obedience⁵²¹⁸ is fulfilled.⁴¹³⁷

6  너희의 복종이 온전히 될 때에 모든 복종치 않는 것을 벌하려고 예비하는 중에 있노라

6  and having readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

6    너희의 복종이 이루어지면 모든 불복종을 응징하려는 준비를 갖추고 있느니라.

7  Do ye look on⁹⁹¹ things³⁵⁸⁸ after²⁵⁹⁶ the outward appearance?⁴³⁸³ If any man¹⁵³⁶ trust³⁹⁸² to himself¹⁴³⁸ that he is¹⁵¹¹ Christ's,⁵⁵⁴⁷ let him of⁵⁷⁵ himself¹⁴³⁸ think³⁰⁴⁹ this⁵¹²⁴ again,³⁸²⁵ that,³⁷⁵⁴ as²⁵³¹ he⁸⁴⁶ is Christ's,⁵⁵⁴⁷ even²⁵³² so³⁷⁷⁹ are we²²⁴⁹ Christ's.⁵⁵⁴⁷

7  너희는 외모만 보는도다 만일 사람이 자기가 그리스도에게G5547 속한 줄을 믿을진대 자기가 그리스도에게G5547 속한 것 같이 우리도 그러한 줄을 자기 속으로 다시 생각할 것이라

7  Do you look at things according to appearance? If anyone has persuaded himself that he is Christ's, let him think this again as to himself, that as he is Christ's, even so we are Christ's.

7  너희는 모든 것을 외모로만 보느냐? 만일 어떤 사람이 자기가 그리스도(마쉬악)에게 속한 줄로 믿는다면 그가 그리스도(마쉬악)에게 속한 것같이 우리도 그리스도(마쉬악)에게 속해 있음을 그 자신이 다시 한 번 생각해야 하리라.

8  For¹⁰⁶³ though^{1437, 5037} I should boast^{2744 (2532)} somewhat⁵¹⁰⁰ more⁴⁰⁵⁵ of⁴⁰¹² our²²⁵⁷ authority,¹⁸⁴⁹ which³⁷³⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Lord²⁹⁶² hath given¹³²⁵ us²²⁵⁴ for¹⁵¹⁹ edification,³⁶¹⁹ and²⁵³² not³⁷⁵⁶ for¹⁵¹⁹ your⁵²¹⁶ destruction,²⁵⁰⁶ I should not³⁷⁵⁶ be ashamed:¹⁵³

8  주께서G2962 주신 권세는 너희를 파하려고 하신 것이 아니요 세우려고 하신 것이니 내가 이에 대하여 지나치게 자랑하여도 부끄럽지 아니하리라

8  For even if I also should boast somewhat more fully of our authority (which the Lord has given us for building up, and not for pulling you down) I will not be put to shame;

8   주(아도나이H136)께서 우리에게 주신 권위는 너희를 세우려는 것이지 무너뜨리려는 것이 아니니, 내가 우리의 권위에 관하여 좀더 자랑한다 할지라도 결코 부끄럽지 않을 것이라.

9  That²⁴⁴³ I may not³³⁶¹ seem¹³⁸⁰ as^{5613, 302} if I would terrify¹⁶²⁹ you⁵²⁰⁹ by¹²²³ letters.¹⁹⁹²

9  이는 내가 편지들로 너희를 놀라게 하려는 것 같이 생각지 않게 함이니

9  so that I might not seem to terrify you by letters.

9  이는 내가 마치 편지들로 너희를 놀라게 하는 것처럼 보이지 아니하려는 것이라.

10  For³⁷⁵⁴ his letters,^{1992, (3303)} say⁵³⁴⁶ they, are weighty⁹²⁶ and²⁵³² powerful;²⁴⁷⁸ but¹¹⁶¹ his bodily⁴⁹⁸³ presence³⁹⁵² is weak,⁷⁷² and²⁵³² his speech³⁰⁵⁶ contemptible.¹⁸⁴⁸

10  저희 말이 그 편지들은 중하고 힘이 있으나 그 몸으로 대할 때는 약하고 말이 시원치 않다 하니

10  For indeed they say, the letters are weighty and powerful, but the bodily presence is weak, and his speech is contemptible.

10 그들이 말하기를 "그의 편지들은 무게가 있고 힘이 있지만, 직접 대할 때는 약하고 그 언변도 하찮다."고 하기 때문이라.

11  Let such a one⁵¹⁰⁸ think³⁰⁴⁹ this,⁵¹²⁴ that,³⁷⁵⁴ such³⁶³⁴ as we are²⁰⁷⁰ in word³⁰⁵⁶ by¹²²³ letters¹⁹⁹² when we are absent,⁵⁴⁸ such⁵¹⁰⁸ will we be also²⁵³² in deed²⁰⁴¹ when we are present.³⁹¹⁸

11  이런 사람은 우리가 떠나 있을 때에 편지들로 말하는 자가 어떠한 자이면 함께 있을 때에 행하는 자도 그와 같은 자인줄 알라

11  Let such a one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters, being absent, such we will be also in deed when we are present.

11   그러한 사람은 이것을 생각해야 하리니, 즉 우리가 함께 있지 않을 때 편지로 말하는 것이 함께 있을 때 행동으로 하는 것과 같다는 것이라.

12  For¹⁰⁶³ we dare⁵¹¹¹ not³⁷⁵⁶ make ourselves of the number,^{1469, 1438} or²²²⁸ compare⁴⁷⁹³ ourselves¹⁴³⁸ with some⁵¹⁰⁰ that commend⁴⁹²¹ themselves:¹⁴³⁸ but²³⁵ they⁸⁴⁶ measuring³³⁵⁴ themselves¹⁴³⁸ by¹⁷²² themseves,¹⁴³⁸ and²⁵³² comparing⁴⁷⁹³ themselves¹⁴³⁸ among themselves,¹⁴³⁸ are not wise.^{4920, 3756}

12  우리가 어떤 자기를 칭찬하는 자로 더불어 감히 짝하며 비교할 수 없노라 그러나 저희가 자기로서 자기를 헤아리고 자기로서 자기를 비교하니 지혜가 없도다

12  For we do not dare to rank or compare ourselves with some of the ones commending themselves. But they, measuring themselves among themselves, and comparing themselves to themselves, are not perceptive.

12  우리는 우리 자신을 감히 자기를 칭찬하는 어떤 사람들과 같은 부류로 나누거나 비교하지 않으나 그들은 자기들 가운데서 스스로를 측정하고 자기들끼리 비교하니 현명하지 못한 것이라.

13  But¹¹⁶¹ we²²⁴⁹ will not³⁷⁸⁰ boast²⁷⁴⁴ of¹⁵¹⁹ things without our measure,²⁸⁰ but²³⁵ according²⁵⁹⁶ to the³⁵⁸⁸ measure³³⁵⁸ of the³⁵⁸⁸ rule²⁵⁸³ which³⁷³⁹ God²³¹⁶ hath distributed³³⁰⁷ to us,²²⁵⁴ a measure³³⁵⁸ to reach²¹⁸⁵ even²⁵³² unto⁸⁹¹ you.⁵²¹⁶

13  그러나 우리는 분량 밖의 자랑을 하지않고 오직 하나님이G2316 우리에게 분량으로 나눠 주신 그 분량의 한계를 따라 하노니 곧 너희에게까지 이른 것이라

13  But we will not boast beyond measure, but according to the measure of the rule which the God of measure distributed to us, to reach even to you.

13  그러나 우리는 정도를 넘어서 자랑하지 아니하고 다만 하나님(엘로힘)께서 우리에게 나누어 주신 규범의 정도에 따라 자랑하노라. 그 정도는 너희에게도 미친 것이라.

14  For¹⁰⁶³ we stretch not ourselves beyond^{5239, 3756, 1438} our measure, as though⁵⁶¹³ we reached²¹⁸⁵ not³³⁶¹ unto¹⁵¹⁹ you:⁵²⁰⁹ for¹⁰⁶³ we are come⁵³⁴⁸ as far as⁸⁹¹ to you⁵²¹⁶ also²⁵³² in¹⁷²² preaching the³⁵⁸⁸ gospel²⁰⁹⁸ of Christ:⁵⁵⁴⁷

14  우리가 너희에게 미치지 못할 자로서 스스로 지나쳐 나아간 것이 아니요 그리스도의G5547 복음으로 너희에게까지 이른 것이라

14  For we do not overstretch ourselves as though not reaching to you. For we also came to you in the gospel of Christ;

14   우리가 마치 너희에게 미치지 못한 것처럼 과도하게 우리 자신을 과장하는 것이 아니니, 우리는 그리스도(마쉬악)의 복음을 전파함으로 너희에게까지 왔노라.

15  Not³⁷⁵⁶ boasting²⁷⁴⁴ of¹⁵¹⁹ things without our measure,²⁸⁰ that is, of¹⁷²² other men's²⁴⁵ labors;²⁸⁷³ but¹¹⁶¹ having²¹⁹² hope,¹⁶⁸⁰ when your⁵²¹⁶ faith⁴¹⁰² is increased,⁸³⁷ that we shall be enlarged³¹⁷⁰ by¹⁷²² you⁵²¹³ according²⁵⁹⁶ to our²²⁵⁷ rule²⁵⁸³ abundantly,^{1519, 4050}

15  우리는 남의 수고를 가지고 분량 밖에 자랑하는 것이 아니라 오직 너희 믿음이 더 할수록 우리의 한계를 따라 너희 가운데서 더욱 위대하여지기를 바라노라

15  not boasting beyond measure in the labors of others, but having hope that the growing faith among you will be increased according to our rule, to overflowing;

15  우리는 다른 사람들의 수고한 것으로 우리의 정도를 넘어서 자랑하지 아니하나, 다만 우리가 희망을 가짐은 너희 믿음이 자라나서 우리의 규범에 따라 너희 가운데서 우리의 영역이 크게 확장되리라는 것이니

16  To preach the gospel²⁰⁹⁷ in¹⁵¹⁹ the regions beyond⁵²³⁸ you,⁵²¹⁶ and not³⁷⁵⁶ to boast²⁷⁴⁴ in¹⁷²² another man's²⁴⁵ line of things²⁵⁸³ made ready to our hand.^{1519, 2092}

16  이는 남의 한계 안에 예비한 것으로 자랑하지 아니하고 너희 지경을 넘어 복음을 전하려 함이라

16  to preach the gospel in that beyond you, and not to boast in another's rule in things made ready.

16  너희의 영역을 넘어서 복음을 전하려는 것이지 다른 사람의 규범 안에서 이미 이룩해 놓은 것으로 자랑하려는 것은 아니니라.

17  But¹¹⁶¹ he that glorieth,²⁷⁴⁴ let him glory²⁷⁴⁴ in¹⁷²² the Lord.²⁹⁶²

17  자랑하는 자는 주G2962 안에서 자랑할지니라

17  But he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.

17  그러나 자랑하는 자는 주(야훼) 안에서 자랑하라.

18  For¹⁰⁶³ not³⁷⁵⁶ he¹⁵⁶⁵ that commendeth⁴⁹²¹ himself¹⁴³⁸ is²⁰⁷⁶ approved,¹³⁸⁴ but²³⁵ whom³⁷³⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Lord²⁹⁶² commendeth.⁴⁹²¹

18  옳다 인정함을 받는 자는 자기를 칭찬하는 자가 아니요 오직 주께서G2962 칭찬하시는 자니라

18  For not he who commends himself is approved, but he whom the Lord commends.

18    이는 스스로 칭찬하는 사람이 인정을 받는 것이 아니요, 주(야훼)께서 칭찬하시는 사람이 인정을 받기 때문이라.
